THE COLLECTION
What a Grimkin is
A Grimkin is a pixel monster drawn on a 128 × 128 grid: crowned, hooded, armoured or robed, always slightly menacing. There are exactly 1,499 of them, and that number never grows.
Every Grimkin comes from one of 15 master designs. Each design is a complete portrait, with outfit, headwear and accessories drawn together so they fit. Around that, every edition gets its own skin colour (11 options), gear palette (6) and background (8), so no two of the 1,499 are the same.

The designs are split into five tiers with fixed quotas. The tier is printed in each Grimkin's traits, and in the Grim Mine it sets how fast that Grimkin mines.
| Tier | Editions | Share | Master designs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Common | 810 | 54.0% | Street Hoodie, Varsity Crown, Iron Punk |
| Uncommon | 405 | 27.0% | Biker, Aviator, Field Officer |
| Rare | 202 | 13.5% | Pirate Captain, Orbital Punk, Tactical Scout |
| Epic | 67 | 4.5% | Samurai, Velvet Regent, Bone Shaman |
| Legendary | 15 | 1.0% | Crimson Emperor, Star Seer, Ivory Sovereign |
THE MINT
How to get one
Grimkin mint as a drop on OpenSea, on Robinhood Chain. Robinhood Chain is an Ethereum layer-2 network, so you pay mint price and gas in ETH. Token numbers run from #1 to #1,499.
| Network | Robinhood Chain, chain ID 4663 |
|---|---|
| Marketplace | OpenSea drop |
| Supply | 1,499, never more |
| Mint price | 0.00018 ETH per Grimkin, plus gas |
| Mint opens | 15:00 UTC · date ANNOUNCED BEFORE MINT |
| Wallet limit | ANNOUNCED BEFORE MINT |
Until the reveal, every Grimkin shows the same sealed image: a crowned silhouette under the stars. Your Grimkin's art and traits appear when the mint is complete.
FAIR LAUNCH
Reveal plan — launch blocked
In many collections, rarity rankings leak before or during the mint, and bots grab the rare tokens. The intended reveal will prevent choosing token assignments, but its authenticated randomness integration is not implemented. Mint, reveal publication and mine opening remain blocked.
We never publish rarity rankings
There is no rarity rank or rarity score anywhere: not on this website, not in the token metadata, not in any file we publish. The tier is a visible trait; rankings are not.
The art is locked before the mint opens
All 1,499 images are fingerprinted, and one combined fingerprint, the provenance hash, is published and written into the contract before the first mint. After that it cannot be changed:
716a21ac782a3f8e4992b2a17ef7266b0675116f18065f72730023ab1fea41c9
Anyone can check it: take the SHA-256 of each image file in edition order from 1 to 1,499, join the 1,499 hashes into one string, and hash that string again with SHA-256. If any image had been swapped, the result would not match.
Public randomness decides who gets what
After the mint closes, a random starting index is drawn from a public source of randomness that nobody controls. Token #t then shows edition ((t − 1 + starting index) mod 1,499) + 1. Because the index is only known after every token has been minted, nobody could have aimed for a particular character.
NOT READY FOR LAUNCH
The exact randomness source, and the moment it will be read, will be announced before the mint opens. Then anyone can repeat the calculation and confirm the reveal.
THE WORLD
The Underforge
This website is a cave. It starts on the surface at night, beside a camp fire, a timbered mine entrance and a giant gold crown lying in the grass. Scroll down and you go underground. Your cursor is your lantern; deeper in, the dark closes in and the lantern is what lets you see. Every chamber is a real depth:
- 0mSurface campThe collection, the 15 designs and how the mine works.
- 120mGallery GrottoEvery character, with filters for tier, design and traits.
- 340mThe UnderforgeThe Grim Mine, where you see and claim your GKIN.
- 520mThe ForgeUpgrades for the expedition game.
- 680mRecord VaultYour expedition journal.
Changing chamber drops you down the shaft, or lifts you back up, while the depth counts past. There is an optional cave soundtrack: room tone, echoing drips, and forge crackle in the deep. Switch it on with the speaker button.
THE GRIM MINE
Your Grimkin mines GKIN
Every Grimkin you hold mines GKIN from the Grim Mine every second, for as long as you hold it. You don't need to stake, lock or send your NFT anywhere. It stays in your wallet and keeps mining.
Rarer tiers mine faster
| Tier | Multiplier | GKIN a day, planned |
|---|---|---|
| Common | × 1.00 | 400 |
| Uncommon | × 1.08 | 432 |
| Rare | × 1.18 | 472 |
| Epic | × 1.32 | 528 |
| Legendary | × 1.50 | 600 |
PLANNED NUMBERS
The multipliers are fixed. The base rate (planned: 400 GKIN a day for a Common) and the season length (planned: 730 days) are confirmed before the mine opens. Once it opens they are locked in the contract for the whole season.
Claim whenever you like
GKIN builds up by the second. Claim once a day, once a month or at the end of the season: nothing is lost by waiting. The claim panel shows the amount growing live for each of your Grimkin.
Selling? The unclaimed GKIN goes with it
Mined GKIN belongs to the Grimkin, not to the wallet. If you sell or transfer a Grimkin, whatever it has mined and you haven't claimed goes to the new owner. Claim first if you want to keep it.
Where the GKIN comes from, and why it can't run out
- The pool is funded up front. When GKIN launches, the team buys GKIN and sends it straight to the Grim Mine contract. That deposit is public on-chain.
- The mine only opens if the pool covers everyone. The contract checks that it holds enough GKIN for every Grimkin to mine the whole season at full rate. If the pool falls short even by one unit, the mine cannot open. At the planned numbers that is 466,236,400 GKIN.
- Then the pool is locked. After opening, nobody can change the rate, the tiers or the season, and nobody can withdraw the pool. Only 180 days after the season ends can unclaimed leftovers be moved out.
- The contract cannot create GKIN. It only hands out what it already holds.
THE TOKEN
GKIN
GKIN launches on Pons, a token launchpad on Robinhood Chain:
- Fixed supply of 1,000,000,000 GKIN. Nobody can mint more.
- It trades first on a bonding curve, where the price moves with buys and sells.
- Once the curve fills, GKIN graduates to a Uniswap v4 pool, and that liquidity is permanently locked.
- The team's launch purchase is what funds the Grim Mine pool.
In the open about how the team is funded: the team receives the mint proceeds, OpenSea creator earnings on resales where they apply, and the creator share of GKIN trading fees on Pons.
STEP BY STEP
How to claim your GKIN
- Go to The mine (340m).The claim panel sits at the top of the chamber.
- Connect your wallet. The site moves your wallet to Robinhood Chain, or adds the network if your wallet doesn't know it yet.
- See your Grimkin. Each one is listed with its tier, its GKIN a day and what it has mined so far, counting up live.
- Press Claim all and confirm in your wallet. This is the only transaction the site ever asks you to sign. You pay a small gas fee in ETH. With more than 100 Grimkin, it is split into several transactions.
- The GKIN arrives in your wallet. The panel refreshes, and your Grimkin carry on mining.
JUST FOR FUN
The expedition game
Below the claim panel there is a small game. Pick a character, choose one of three routes into the mine, and bring back ORE and crystals. Then spend them at the Forge on a better pickaxe, crystal infusions and a bigger satchel. Each design has its own ability, so a Tactical Scout moves faster and a Bone Shaman finds more crystals.
The game is separate from GKIN. ORE and crystals live only in your browser, have no value, and do not affect what your Grimkin mine.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN
The road ahead
- Mint on OpenSea.The provenance hash is published and locked into the contract before the first mint.
- Reveal. After the mint closes, public randomness sets the starting index and every Grimkin's art and traits appear.
- GKIN launches on Pons. The team's launch purchase is sent to the Grim Mine.
- The Grim Mine opens. The contract checks the pool covers the full season, then locks it. Every Grimkin starts mining.
- The season runs.Planned: 730 days. Claim any time; after the season ends you can still claim what was mined.
STAY SAFE
Before you connect a wallet
- Use only links from the official Grimkin channels. Contract addresses will be published there: ANNOUNCED AT LAUNCH.
- Check you are on Robinhood Chain (chain ID 4663) before you sign anything.
- This website only ever asks you to sign a claim. It never asks for token approvals, never asks you to send your NFT anywhere, and never asks for your seed phrase. Nobody from the team will DM you first.
PLEASE READ
NFTs and tokens are risky. GKIN's price is set by the market and can fall, including to zero; nothing here promises any value or return. Mining rewards depend on the pool described above and on the contract working as described. Make your own decisions, only spend what you can afford to lose, and check whether NFTs and tokens are allowed where you live. This is not financial advice.
QUESTIONS
FAQ
Do I have to stake or lock my Grimkin to mine?
No. Your Grimkin stays in your wallet. Holding it is enough.
When does mining start?
When the Grim Mine opens, after the reveal and the GKIN launch. Every Grimkin starts at the same moment.
Do rarer Grimkin mine more?
Yes. Mining speed follows the tier: Common × 1.00, Uncommon × 1.08, Rare × 1.18, Epic × 1.32, Legendary × 1.50.
Do I lose anything if I don't claim every day?
No. GKIN keeps building up until you claim, right to the end of the season.
What if I sell my Grimkin?
Its unclaimed GKIN goes to the buyer. Claim before you sell if you want to keep it.
What does claiming cost?
Only the network gas fee, paid in ETH on Robinhood Chain.
Can the team take the mining pool back?
No. Once the mine opens, the pool is locked in the contract. Unclaimed leftovers can only be moved out 180 days after the season ends.
Does the expedition game earn GKIN?
No. The game is just for fun; its ORE and crystals stay in your browser and have no value.
Are there rarity rankings?
No. Grimkin does not publish rarity ranks or scores anywhere, on purpose, so the launch stays fair.
Numbers marked "announced before mint" or "planned" are confirmed in the official channels before they take effect. Go down to the mine
